Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement, which will be provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations during the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Warwick, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence appropriate for the selected vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, in addition to any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or in person at our Warwick office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, aside from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure that the fuel level matches what was recorded at the time of collection; refueling fees will apply if the level is lower. Late returns may lead to additional charges, so please notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle later than planned. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or fees incurred during your rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. For a comprehensive overview of coverage and excess amounts, please refer to your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial liability. It's advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is in place. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar dangerous pursuits is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes and within specified passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Warwick is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
